So.....I have a job at the local library which is extremely boring. I shelve books for three hours straight. It is super duper fun...NOT. Actually, it's not extremely horrible it just is boring. And a bored me equals easy distraction.

So.....I took the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course at the local YMCA and got certified. I immediately applied at the town pools where I hang out all the time. No really, all the time. I volunteer at the swim lessons held at the one closest to me during the morning and then end up going back later that day.

So.....to my major disappointment I wasn't hired at the beginning of the summer (the are outdoor pools, only open during the summer months). Instead, some people I took the class with did, and might I add I'm better swimmers than they are? Whatever.

So.....many of the lifeguards at the pool are college students and have to go back weeks before the pool officially closes. Therefore, a lack of lifeguards. Therefore, a need for lifeguards...fast!

So.....to finish this whole thing up, I was hired as a lifeguard and am happily working there these last few days. I'm already friends with all the lifeguards who are still there, and and having a way better time working than any day at the library. It really makes me feel good to know I have the ability to protect the lives of those in my community. Oh, and did I mention some of the guy lifeguards are super hot? XD

So.....as the title of this journal entry says....gonna guard your life!
